Sir Alex Ferguson finally names differences between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi (Video)

Alex Ferguson, former Manchester United manager, has named the difference between Cristiano Ronaldo and his long rival Lionel Messi, thus contributing to the greatest-of all-time debate.

The legendary coach was asked what makes the Portuguese superstar a delightful watch than his Barcelona rival.

And unsurprisingly Fergie, who is considered Ronaldo's football father, quickly named the Juve star's unique qualities that rank him above the Argentine.

"There is a difference between Messi and Ronaldo and I'll tell you what it is," Ferguson said.

"I think Messi is a Barcelona player but Ronaldo could be playing for Stockport County and he would score a hat-trick. He is brilliant in the air and he has two feet."

He, however, praised Messi's ability on football while comparing the Barcelona star's feet to "slippers."

"When the ball is at Lionel Messi's feet it is like he is wearing slippers," the 77-year-old said.

Meanwhile, Fergie was considered one of the greatest managers of all time having won more trophies than any other manager in the history of football.

The 77-year-old joined Manchester United in 1986 and called it quit in 2013 after a successful spell spanning 26 years where he was able to win 38 trophies with Reds including 13 Premier League titles.

During his time as Manchester United manager, the legendary manager brought Ronaldo to Old Trafford from Portugal side Sporting CB in 2003.

The Portuguese star would later spend six years with the Premier League side, scoring 84 goals in 196 appearances before sealing a move to Real Madrid in a world record fee.
