Semi Ajayi was at wrong end of a late penalty call in West Brom's 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic.

The Nigerian international was adjudged to have fouled Mahamadou-Naby Sarr in the penalty in the 90th minute while the Baggies were coasting to a 2-1 win.

But the referee pointed to the spot and gave Lee Bowyer's side a late penalty which was converted by Josh Cullen as the match ended 2-2 at The Hawthorns.

West Brom had taken the lead through Matthew Phillips in the tenth minute before Macauley Bonne equalized on the hour mark to make it 1-1.

Slavian Bilic's side were left with ten men after Nathan Ferguson launched a dangerous tackle on his opponent and was given his marching orders in the 67th minute.

Despite playing with a man down, West Brom took the lead with nine minute remaining to play through Hal Robson-Kanu as he made it 2-1.

But a late penalty from Cullen saw the Baggies drop priceless points but maintained the pace on the Championship table with two points.

Leeds failed to take advantage of West Brom's slip as they were forced to a 0-0 draw at Sheffield Wednesday while Preston moved to second following a win over Blackburn.
