Transfer: Lampard reveals what Chelsea will do to N'Golo Kante

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has said that the club will work hard to get midfielder, N'Golo Kante fit again.

He also said that Chelsea will do their best to get the former Leicester City star match-ready before their 2019/2020 Premier League opener against Manchester United next week.

We reported that Kante, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Chelsea to Paris Saint-Germain this summer, has yet to fully recover from a knee injury.

The 2018 France World Cup winner picked up the injury against Watford at the start of May but played the last 15 minutes in Chelsea's last pre-season friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach.

"That was always the plan. Kante is working a little bit now and it was just to give him the feeling of match time as he hasn't been able to do that yet as it's an awkward injury," Lampard was quoted by Football London as saying on Saturday after Chelsea's pre-season 2-2 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach.

"I just wanted him to feel it and us to see it as you cannot replicate it unless you do it. It was a good opportunity to do that for him and we'll work hard on getting him fit.

"Who knows if he'll be ready for next week or not, but we'll work hard for that. We also have to be a bit careful as he's played so many games over the past three seasons and we don't want to rush him back if it's going to be a negative. We'll do our best to get him back."
