Man United vs Inter Milan: Solskjaer confirms one top player will miss clash, gives reason

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Striker Romelu Lukaku will not play in Saturday's pre-season friendly game against Inter Milan at the Singapore national stadium.

The Norwegian stated that the Belgium international is not match-fit to play for Man United.

He also confirmed that Goalkeeper David De Gea and Defender Luke Shaw will feature for the Red Devils against the Serie giants.

Solskjaer's men head to the game after defeating Leeds United 4-0 in their last game on Wednesday.

Asked if Lukaku would play against Inter Milan, Solskjaer was quoted by Man United's official website as telling reporters at a pre-match press conference: "No, he's not fit, so he won't be available".

Lukaku also missed Wednesday's 4-0 win over Leeds, as did Goalkeeper David de Gea and Full-back Luke Shaw, and both could feature against the Serie A side.

Solskjaer added: "I think both De Gea and Shaw will be available.

"Luke did a decent training session yesterday before we left, and David trained today, so we'll try to get 60 or longer out of him. It shouldn't be too difficult - he's a keeper."

The kick-off time for the match is 12:30pm.
