Real Madrid have offered Manchester United €80m (£72m) plus their choice of Gareth Bale or Isco for Paul Pogba, but the Red Devils are not interested in the deal.

The La Liga side are continuing their pursuit of the Frenchman but negotiations appear to have hit an impasse as United are unwilling to let the midfielder go.

United have slapped a price tag of £150m on Pogba's head to try and fend off the interest from Real, although Mundo Deportivo report the Spanish side would go as high as €150m (£134m).

Before they are willing to make such an offer, though, they will need Pogba to make it clear he wants to join them by officially handing in a transfer request or by avoiding United's upcoming pre-season tour.

United head to Australia on Sunday for friendlies in Perth followed by matches in Singapore and China.

Pogba is yet to report back for pre-season training, which was signed off by the club, but if he were to refuse to go on the tour then this would encourage Real into making a bid as United will be forced to negotiate.

Juventus also maintain an interest in their former player and have offered €70m (£62.8m) plus Paolo Dybala, Alex Sandro or Blaise Matuidi, but United have turned it down.

The Serie A side could also come back with an improved offer if Pogba plays hardball, though.

Pogba has been carrying out commercial duties in New York this week, but the Manchester Evening News confirmed that he is expected back at the club before the flight to Australia on Sunday.

If he does not report back by the time that plane departs then transfer activity will kick into overdrive.
