Solskjaer reveals first player Man United will sign after Champions League 3-0 defeat to Barcelona

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has identified the first player the club will sign following their Champions League quarter-final second leg 3-0 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday.

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi netted twice and set up midfielder, Philippe Coutinho for the third goal, as Ernesto Valverde's men qualified for the semi-final on a 4-0 aggregate.

According to Daily Mail, Solskjaer wants to sign Crystal Palace right-back, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as his first signing for the club this summer transfer window.

The report also claimed that Man United's chiefs have given Solskjaer the "green light" to pursue a deal for the 21-year-old, who has made 31 English Premier League (EPL) appearances this season for Palace.

Speaking after Man United's 3-0 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday night, Solsjkaer admitted that Man United have a big rebuilding job on their hands ahead of next season.

He said: "We know there's work to be done. I've said all along that this isn't going to change overnight.

"The next few years are going to be massive for us to get to the level that Barcelona and other teams are at."

Man United will now tackle Everton in their next fixture in the Premier League on Sunday.
