Barcelona star Boateng shuns Lionel Messi, names the best player he has played with

Barcelona forward Kevin-Prince Boateng has named former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the best player he has ever played with.

The Ghanaian forward joined the Catalans during the January transfer window from Serie A side Sassuolo on a short term deal.

Since his winter transfer move to the Camp Nou, Boateng has featured just twice in all competitions - which means he has had limited time with Messi on the pitch.

He snubbed his current teammate Lionel Messi when asked the question in a quickfire Q&A with Barca TV.

Boateng and Ibrahimovic both played for AC Milan in the 2010-11 season, when the club last won the Italian League title.

However, the Ghanaian, according to Daily Star showered encomium on Messi, saying he is the best player "in this world and every world" during his official presentation at the Nou Camp.

Messi has been regarded as one of the best in modern era after winning five Ballon d'Or awards and helping Barca to a period of huge success.

The 31-year-old became the first player to score 400 La Liga goals after inspiring Barcelona's 3-0 win over Eibar at Camp Nou earlier this year.

He is also the club's highest goals scorer and has won over 30 trophies in his 15 year reign at the Catalan side.

Messi has scored 39 goals in all competitions this campaign, and also stand a chance to win treble when the 2018-19 season wraps up this summer.

However, the Argentine might be out for sometime having picked up an injury in his country's 3-1 defeat to Venezuela during last international break.
