Former Man City star who was jailed 3 years ago finally regains freedom

Former Manchester City midfielder Adam Johnson has finally been released from prison having spent the last three years behind bars for child se'x offences.

The ex-England football star was handed a six-year jail term after being found guilty of engaging in se'xual activity with a 15-year-old fan in 2016.

Johnson, 31, however regained freedom in the early hours of Friday after spending three years at the HM Prison Moorland.

He was said to have been driven in a people carrier with blacked-out rear windows to his mansion in County Durham.

Dave Johnson, Adam's father told reporters expressed his delight to have his son back home, adding that he will release a statement later on.

During investigation, the former Sunderland star was said to have admitted kissing the girl involved but insisted he never touched her private parts, nor did she perform oral s'ex on him.

Sky Sports reports that Adam was found guilty of se'xual activity with a child in relation to "digital pen'etration" but cleared him of the same offence relating to the oral s'ex.

The judge accused the midfielder of repeatedly lying to the court in a bid to preserve his £60,000-a-week career with Sunderland.

As a s'ex offender, Johnson will have to register his address and bank details with police and inform officers of any intention to travel abroad.

The children's services department from the local council may also carry out risk assessments in relation to Johnson's daughter Ayla, and could prevent Johnson from spending time alone with his daughter.
