Nigerian football star arrested in India after being caught with fake visa

Nigerian football star Daniel Bidemi has reportedly been arrested in India after being accused of using fake visa to stay in India.

The 31-year-old forward, who presently plays for Tollygunge Agragami has scored one goal after eleven appearances for the club.

He has also featured for several clubs in Kolkata according to reports from local reports as quoted by Qed.ng.

The publication also claimed that Anandapur police revealed Bidemi was staying with his wife who hails from the state, at a rented flat in Madurdah, Anandapur.

An unnamed Security Control Office was said to have reported the striker to the police who eventually raided his apartment and arrested him.

Reports further stated that Bidemi had earlier been deported in 2015 through Indira Gandhi International Airport.

In 2016, the versatile striker found his way back into the country where he played for Mohun Bagan.

He has also featured for a few other clubs in the Calcutta Football League clubs such as Chirag United SC, Mohammedan Sporting, Calcutta Port Trust, Bhowanipore FC, Tollygunge Agragami and Police AC since his arrival in India in 2008.

Bidemi has also played the I-League for Shillong Lajong FC and Sporting Clube de.
