Man United boss Solskjaer reveals who he will blame for his side's defeat to PSG

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that his side suffered a bit of inexperience in their 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of their Champions League tie.

Goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe were all the Parisians needed to hand the Red Devils their first win since late December when the Norwegian manager replaced Jose Mourinho.

Going into the match, United were hoping to stretch their unbeaten run to 12 games but they failed to achieve that milestone as they risk crashing out at the same stage they did last term.

After the game, Solskjaer said the game played out the same way they had thought it would go except for the part that Kimpembe was not red carded in the game according to Tribal Football.

The manager said: "It looked like the game we thought it was going to be. In the first half, there wasn't really much in it, and then they got the first goal.

"When they got that one, it was a poor goal to give away. Then they got the momentum. They started to control the game. They had the experience to play it out.

"You can see that we've not played games at this level for a while and we'll have to learn from this experience, because it was one of those experiences that can go either way .

"It's not going to be a season defining one for us. It has to be one that we're going to learn from. "

When asked if goalscorer Kimpembe should've seen red, Solskjaer also stated: "Yes, very [lucky not to be sent off] .

"And the way he throws Rashford down to the ground in the second half and we don't even get a foul. But there's no point me sitting talking about those things now, they're gone." he continued.

Solskjaer further lamented that he is unhappy Paul Pogba will not be playing the second leg after being shown red card towards the end of the meeting.

The Frenchman, who has been one of United's best player since the arrival of the interim manager was book twice and the second one, he was given a marching order by the referee.

"I'm disappointed, of course, that we're not going to have Paul in the next round because I thought he was our best player.

"He had three players around him all the time and he was still at the top, so that's a big blow because he has been fantastic for us ."

Though, the Red Devils are currently in the top four on the Premier League table, they face a tough task to progress to the quarterfinal of the competition as they travel to Paris for the second leg next month.
