Ex-Chelsea star reveals why it will be difficult for Hazard to stay at Stamford Bridge next season

Cesc Fabregas has little conviction that Chelsea star man Eden Hazard will sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

The Spaniard who left the Blues in January to join struggling Ligue 1 side Monaco, revealed that the Belgian always had his heart set on joining Real Madrid.

The Chelsea attacker revealed earlier in the week he has made a decision over his future and would open up soon as his prospective £100million move to the Bernabeu is edging closer.

But Fabrgeas hopes he will sign a new deal that will keep him at Stamford Bridge beyond 2020.

''Let's see what he decides to do. He has a year and a half left and he is happy at Chelsea and so is his family," Fabregas told Radio Marca.

"But in the end they are very personal decisions. He likes Madrid and he has always said it.

"Hopefully he will renew with Chelsea, but if he does not he will finish in Madrid."

Hazard has been in excellent form under Maurizio Sarri this season scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions.

The 28-year-old was on target twice in Chelsea's 5-0 win over Huddersfield in the Premier League and the weight of the club will be on his shoulders when they take on Manchester City at the Etihad.
