French star Paul Pogba has reportedly taken up the mantle of leadership in Manchester United's dressing room few weeks after the sack of former boss Jose Mourinho.
The 25-year-old World Cup winning midfielder is also described as the unofficial Red Devils captain after inspiring his side to 3-1 win over Arsenal in their FA Cup fourth round stage.
Pogba has been exceptional for the Old Trafford outfit since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solsjaer last month.
Leading them to eight consecutive wins in all competitions before finally dropping points against Burnley in their 2-2 clash in the EPL on Tuesday night.
The former Juventus midfielder was said to be unhappy at the club and was tipped to quit this month the Red Devils should Mourinho had remained at the helm of affairs.
Reports claim that Pogba was said to have been instrumental to United impressive win over Arsenal in the FA Cup last week.
After which he inspired them to a dramatic come back against Burnley in Tuesday's EPL encounter in front of their home fans, scoring from the spot himself.
However, SunSport quoting a source from Old Trafford claims: " The dressing room after the win at Arsenal was the best it has been for a couple of seasons now .
"There was loads of high-fives and hugging among the squad and backroom. It was all about the manner of the performance .
"They carried out Ole's instructions to the letter. Pogba went about to everyone bigging and jeeing them up. It was brilliant to see.
"Ole was beaming from ear-to-ear but he was much more laid back. It was Pogba leading the dressing room and although he isn't captain, it felt like he was. "
Meanwhile, Pogba looks set to sit down with the United hierarchy for talks over a contract extension - with his deal having two years left
The French star has scored 11 goals and seven assists in all competitions for Man United and will be looking to increase his wages beyond the current £300,000-a-week mark before signing new deal.
