Barcelona star Lionel Messi reveals who is his greatest critic

Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has reportedly revealed that his first son Thiago is his greatest critic.

The 31-year-old has been at the top of his game for well over a decade - winning five Ballon d'Or awards and several other individual and collective titles.

He has scored 26 goals in 24 matches for the Catalans so far this campaign despite missing some key games towards the end of 2018 owing to injury.

According to Indian Times, the 6-year-old usually tells his father how he can improve his game ahead of the next.

The Argentine says admits his son questions his decision after each game after forces him to explain his decisions per time on the pitch.

Messi was on target for Barca in their 2-0 win over Girona over the weekend as the Camp Nou side maintain their five points lead on the table.

"It's always difficult to digest defeats and bad performances, but [my son] Thiago now forces me to comment on what happened and explain ," Messi told SPORT.

"He follows everything, asks questions, and gives me notes when things are not going so well. Yes, yes, I already received a couple of criticisms ," he added.

Messi has scored 19 goals and 10 assists in the Spanish League this campaign and he is in contention for major awards at the end of the season.

He will also be hoping to guide Barcelona to another La Liga glory as they currently top the table with 49 points from 21 matches.

His absence in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey quarterfinal clash saw Sevilla claim a 2-0 win over the Catalans last week.
