Checkout scoring sensation who has more international goals than Lionel Messi

India international Sunil Chhetri is now the second leading goal scorer in international football ahead of Lionel Messi and behind Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 34-year-old scored two goals for his country's 4-1 win against Thailand at the ongoing Asian Cup tournament.

Chhetri now takes his tally to 67 goals in 105 matches overtaking Argentina's Messi who has scored 65 but Portugal's Ronaldo still lead the pack with 85 goals.

The Bengaluru star made history when he came in as a second half substitute to help India record their first Asian Cup win in 55 years.

Chhetri scored his first international goal in 2005 in a historic match between India and the long standing political rival Pakistan, where the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

He also helped India win the 2008 Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup which is the biggest achievement in the nations history, scoring four goals in the process.

Chhetri will be proud of his achievements because he is above the likes of of Cote d'Ivoire striker Didier Drogba, Brazil's Ronaldo and Neymar, and Sweden's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
