Manchester United interim boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer will be dragging his squad members to a £350-a-night warm weather training camp in Dubai after their FA Cup third-round fixture against Reading this weekend.

According to a UK Daily Mail report, Solksjaer and his squad are due to jet out to the United Arab Emirates on Saturday evening, for a four-day stay at Dubai's five-star One&Only Royal Mirage Arabian Court.

The Norwegian insists the trip to Dubai is not a relaxing break or a reward for his players.

In addition, Solskjaer hopes to put the players through various training regimes, access strong characters within the squad, and also single out team leaders he can bank on in the course of the season.

Solskjaer and assistant Mike Phelan have also shown they are not afraid to punish offending players within the squad.

Already, Frenchman Anthony Martial was sanctioned for arriving late for training on Christmas Day, and will stress on the importance of discipline during the special training in Dubai.

Interestingly, former United boss Jose Mourinho was often left angry at how some players responded when afforded roles before matches, but Solskjaer has acknowledged he won't accept such as manager.

"You speak to the players with what we, as a staff, expect from the group," he said. "Never ever, ever, ever forget where you are and what badge you are wearing when you are playing because we do have a different history to other clubs," he was quoted as in an interview with Stadium Astro.

"We do have a different tradition. We have had the best boss in the world. We've had Sir Matt before then. We have a way of behaving and a way of playing.

"It is so lovely to walk in here and Kath, the receptionist, still wants to be here. There is a reason players come here but there is also a reason the staff are employed.

"The staff are here because they are the best at what they are doing. If we can have that continuity, with Kath or the kitchen staff, that's so important. They know what's expected and they know the culture of the club," he summed up.
