Real Madrid set to land want-away Manchester City attacker in January

Spanish League giants Real Madrid are reportedly planning to land want-away Manchester City youngster Brahim Diaz this winter.

The 19-year-old Spaniard is yet to taste Premier League action this season despite scoring twice in three EFL Cup appearances.

According to Spain news outlet Marca, the striker is expected to sign a six year deal around 15 million euros plus add-ons once both parties agree terms.

The publication further revealed that the deal is being stalled due to the details of the add-ons, but Diaz will occupy one of Madrid's two slots in the first team and he will earn 3.5 million euros per year gross.

Madrid are ready to sign and unveil the attacker to the media and their fans next week, however, this will negate their policy of not signing players during the January transfer window.

Lucas Silva is the last player who came in through the winter transfer window in the 2014/15 season.

However, Los Blancos are hoping to take advantage of the star who wants to re-unite with his family, five years after leaving Malaga for Man City.

According to report, Pep Guardiola gave Diaz a chance to speak with other clubs once it was confirmed the player wasn't ready to commit his future to the Citizens.

Meanwhile, Madrid were said to have offered 10 million euros initially, while City countered with 20 million; they settled on 15 million, though the add-ons will take it above this figure.

Diaz has not been able to break into City first team owing to the array of stars, currently doing well at the club.

That is not to say that it will be easy at Madrid, but he will be one of the young talents that the club are betting on - a list which includes Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior and, when he arrives, Rodrygo - and Diaz is a player that will excite the crowd at the Santiago Bernabeu.Ultimately, Diaz is a player with outrageous potential and this was an opportunity that Madrid could not turn down.
