Barcelona star who is wanted by 2 top EPL giants asks La Liga teammates for forgiveness

Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele was said to have apologised to his teammates in the dressing room following his late arrival to training over the weekend.

The World Cup winning star reported to one of their training sessions late ahead of their Champions League last Group B meeting at the Camp Nou.

He was however sanctioned £90,000 by the club authorities for turning up two hours late to training.

The French star dazzled everyone in Tuesday's 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur after netting a superb solo goal on home turf.

ESPN reported that Dembele was handed the heavy fine after security officials were tasked to find him just hours after staring in the club's 4-0 win over Espanyol at the weekend.

Having showed up late at the club's complex, he was keen to issue a grovelling apology for his actions.

Daily Mail quoting SPORT newspaper revealed that Dembele gathered his team-mates in the dressing room at the start of the week to say sorry for being late, with the apology going down well among his team-mates.

It is understood that Dembele has promised both his team-mates and management that he will not be late for training again.

While Barca coach Ernesto Valverde offered some words of warning after the draw with Tottenham.

"He has made a great goal, possible for players with his talent ," he said.

"We are happy with him and we said that throughout the season things happen that we try to solve internally.
"We hope that he and the rest will continue to give us much joys. I do not know [if the case is closed], tomorrow we have training."

We recall that Ousmane Dembele scored a late minute equaliser to save Barcelona from losing to La Liga title contender Atletico Madrid in their Spanish League clash.

The World Cup winning attacker came in from the bench to power home a 90th minute striker at the Catalans shared spoils with Diego Simone's men.

Diego Costa opened scoring for the hosts in the 80th minute from an Antoinne Griezmann's corner kick but were unable to hold on to the lead till the end of the meeting.
