Unai Emery identifies £36m replacement for Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal are keen on signing Lyon midfielder, Houssem Aouar, and manager Unai Emery sees the young Frenchman as an ideal replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

The 20-year-old has already scored five goals in Ligue 1 and laid on three assists in the Champions League this season, emerging as one of the most promising young talents in European football.

Chelsea and Manchester City are both interested on Aouar, but France Football reports that it is the Gunners who are particularly keen.

Emery knows all about Aouar from his time in France in charge of PSG and loves how versatile the youngster is.

The player is likely to command a transfer fee in excess of £36million.

Ramsey is almost certain to leave the Emirates when his contract expires in the summer and he is free to begin negotiating a pre-contract agreement from January.
