Premier League top manager agrees to join Real Madrid but awaits chairman's blessings

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly agreed to become Real Madrid's next manager.
The 46-year-old Argentine recently signed a new long

term deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.
He has however been linked with a move to join the Galacticos after the sack of Julen Lopetegui last month.

The Spaniard was relieved of his duties at the Santiago Bernabeu following their disappointing 5-1 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou.

Though, Los Blancos have named Santiago Solari as their interim manager but are still looking to hire a substantial boss.

Meanwhile, Express news claims Spurs owner Daniel Levy has the final say on the deal which might see the tactician move to Spain soon.

Duncan Castles claims Real wanted to replace Zinedine Zidane with Pochettino but the deal failed owing to Levy's refusal.

"Pochettino wanted the job in the summer, he was offered the job, accepted it and Daniel Levy prevented it from happening ," he told the Transfer Window Podcast.

"You have to take from all of that that he's very much a Real candidate and still the No.1 candidate from Madrid's perspective to be the next permanent manager of Real Madrid ."

The current European champions have struggled in all competitions this season - sitting sixth on the Spanish League table with 17 points from 11 matches.

Since the arrival of Solari, Madrid have won their games - beating Melilla 4-0 in the Copa Del Rey, and Rayo Valadollid 2-0 last weekend in the La Liga.
