Liverpool star midfielder Naby Keita spent the night in a hospital on Wednesday, October 3, after suffering a severe pain in his back during the Reds 1-0 defeat by Napoli in the UEFA Champions League cracker.
The Guinea midfielder was taken out in the 20th minute without an opponent in sight but initially he had a clash with Napoli's goalscorer Lorenzo Insigne.
Initially, the midfielder while being assessed told the club doctor, Andy Massey that he was feeling severe pain in his back.
Reacting after the encounter, Liverpool's manager, Jurgen Klopp, could not reveal much about the midfielder's situation during his post-match press conference, but reports now claim the Guinean star spent the night at the hospital as a precautionary move.
Already, the Reds have released a statement on the midfielder's plight on their official website.
"Keita was transferred to a local hospital with the club doctor, where - with the midfielder's agreement - he underwent a number of precautionary health checks to assess his condition.
"No decision has yet been taken on when the 23-year-old will be discharged,"
the release read in part.
Liverpool will play host to Premier League leaders Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
