Real Madrid star reacts to Ronaldo's red card in Juventus Champions League tie against Valencia

Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez has slammed the referee's decision to send off Cristiano Ronaldo against Valencia as shameful.

Following the incident, Theo Hernandez, who is currently on loan with La Liga side Real Sociedad, took to social media to vent his frustration at the decision.

He tweeted: "Regrettable sending off of @Cristiano! SHAMEFUL."
And according to the UEFA guidelines: "As a rule, a player who is sent off the field of play is suspended for the next match in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Super Cup).

"In case of serious offences, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is entitled to augment this punishment, including by extending it to other competitions."

The Portuguese star was red carded for an off-the-ball incident with Valencia defender Jeison Murillo in their Champions League clash at the Mestalla.
Both stars clashed in the first half as Ronaldo appeared to have kicked the defender before tugging at his hair.

German referee Felix Brych consulted with his assistant behind the goal before brandishing a red card to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Ronaldo broke down into tears as all his protests fell on deaf ears and Juventus had to finish the match with 10-men.

If the three-match ban stands, the Biaconeri striker will miss his reunion with his former club Manchester United.
