Maurizio Sarri axes two of Antonio Conte's rules to win over Chelsea players

Maurizio Sarri has overturned Antonio Conte's rules regarding diet and matchday preparation in a bid to win over Chelsea's players, according to reports.

Conte upheld a strict regime during his two seasons at Stamford Bridge and placed several restrictions on what his squad could eat.

The Italian also ordered Chelsea's players to stay at a hotel in west London the night before their games at Stamford Bridge, but it was a rule which did not go down well with the squad.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Sarri has now loosened Conte's restriction on the players' nutrition and has given his squad more options to eat at the club's training ground.

Sarri has also abandoned Conte's rule of staying in a hotel before every home fixture and has told his players that they can spend the evening at home before linking up at Stamford Bridge on the day of the game.

The report claims that Sarri's decisions to overturn Conte are his first major steps in attempting to help create a better atmosphere in the squad.

Willian made it clear this week that he would have left Chelsea had Conte remained at Stamford Bridge and admitted that the Italian was 'very difficult to work with'.

David Luiz has also indicated that he was unhappy with Conte due to the playing style he implemented during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Sarri got off to a winning start as Chelsea manager with a 3-0 victory over Huddersfield Town at the weekend and will look to build on that with a positive result against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge this Saturday.
