N'Golo Kante sends message to Antonio Conte after Chelsea sacking

N'Golo Kante has paid tribute to Antonio Conte after Chelsea decided to sack the Italian last week.

The France international was signed during Conte's first summer at the club and won the Premier League title during their first season at Stamford Bridge.

Conte and Kante won the FA Cup last season but it wasn't enough for the Italian to keep his job after a poor Premier League campaign ended with the team finishing outside the Champions League places.

Conte was replaced by Maurizio Sarri last week following Chelsea's lengthy negotiations with Napoli.

Conte was involved in bust-ups with several players during his time at Chelsea, most notably Diego Costa and David Luiz.

But Kante clearly held Conte in high regard, judging by his message to the 48-year-old on Wednesday.

Kante posted a collage of himself with the ex-Chelsea manager on his social media accounts with the caption: 'Thank you coach! All the best for the future.'

The 27-year-old is currently on holiday after helping France win the World Cup in Russia.

Kante's performances at the tournament have cemented his reputation as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world.

And the France international has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, although reports claim that the midfielder is happy to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's squad travelled to Australia on Wednesday for the start of their pre-season tour, but Kante is set to miss the majority of the fixtures due to his break.
