Chelsea News: How the Blues could line up with new signings in the 2018/19 Season

After a disappointing Premier League season in which they finished fifth, Chelsea will be looking to make some big acquisitions in the transfer window this summer.

The Blues still have a solid foundation to their team, with many of the players who won the league just a year ago still at the club.

However, a small rebuilding job must be done at Stamford Bridge after their failure to qualify for the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.

Scroll down to see how Chelsea could line up in 2018/19.

Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea will be hoping to hold on to Thibaut Courtois this summer amid rumours he could decide to leave for Real Madrid. The 'keeper has one year left on his current Blues deal.

Defenders: Marcos Alonso, Antonio Rudiger, Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli), Cesar Azpilicueta, Victor Moses

The Stamford Bridge back line was surprisingly questionable in the second half of 2017/18. Chelsea's defence has missed the leadership of John Terry and David Luiz from their title-winning season and needs a big, strong centre-back replacement, assuming Luiz has played his last match for the club. Some may be surprised to still see Victor Moses here as he is far from a fan favourite, however the Blues don't seem to be looking much at new full backs so far this summer.

Midfielders: N'Golo Kante, Jean Michael Seri (Nice)

Cesc Fabregas was an inspired signing upon his initial arrival at Stamford Bridge, but his form dropped of drastically in the second half of 2017/18. Chelsea are currently being linked with a move for Nice's Jean Michael Seri, who would provide a calming influence in midfield alonside the consistently brilliant N'Golo Kante.

Forwards: Eden Hazard, Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), Leon Bailey (Bayer Leverkusen)

Eden Hazard has made it known that if Chelsea are to spend big this summer, then he will be happy to remain at the club. In a scenario where the Blues sign Lewandowksi and Bailey, we assume that would be the case. Antonio Conte's side were poor in front of goal this season, as misfiring Alvaro Morata often disappointed with the wasteful Willian. Signing Bayern Munich's star striker and Bayer Leverkusen's star winger would be a real statement of intent ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
