Alexandre Lacazette will become Arsenal's
most expensive player, when he signs a five-
year deal with the Gunners this week.
Arsenal and Lyon have agreed a £44million
fee for the 26-year-old, who netted 28 times
in Ligue 1 last season.
When the move is completed, Lacazette's
transfer will now surpass the the £42.5million
spent to land Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid in
2013.
"To be close to £44million is something
unique, and will be without a doubt a record
for Arsenal and a record for Lyon absolutely.
"We will without a doubt hit a record, it is not
a small transfer, £44million for a player who
was produced by our club," Lyon's president,
Jean Michel Aulas, said.
Everton will now try to tempt Arsene Wenger
with £20million for Olivier Giroud, the player
most at risk from his France team-mate's
arrival in World Cup year.
