Aluu chief and 12 others arrested in connection to the murder of  4 uniport students

Update from UNIPORT says that the police arrested a Chief in Omokere Aluu communityand 12 others in connection to the execution of
four students of University of Port Harcourt over allegations of stealing phones and laptops.
Speaking on the matter, State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Ugwuegbulam kept mute as to if the victims were actually
robbers, but he however condemned theact of killing them.
He said: "Rivers State Police Command unequivocally condemns the gruesome killing of four UniPort students onOctober 5, by irate mob from Aluu community.
The command sympathises with the families of the slain students and also appeals to them not to take the laws into their hands.
Students of the university are urged notto engage in any reprisal attack as such could lead to chaos and anarchy.
"The command has commenced investigationinto the incident.
Amazing success has been recorded in that regard as 13 persons, including the chief of
the community suspectedto have been involved in the
reprehensible, barbaric act, have
been arrested based oncredible intelligence and video clips of the killings.
Suspects are being
interrogated by crack police team."
