Corpse of soldier who died with singer Ebony, to be jailed

The corpse of the military officer, Francis Atisu Vondee, who died in a car crash with Ghanaian dancehall artiste Ebony, will face court-martial.

It was gathered from Burma camp that the Lance corporal asked for a sick leave but ended up in Mankranso, where he met his untimely death.

According to the sources at the military high command, Vondee who was in a military uniform at the time of the accident, was not officially deployed for the bodyguard duties.


At the end of investigations, his body will be court-martialed and possibly sentenced to 40 days in the military guardroom, in line with the laws and statutes governing the Ghana Army.

It was further revealed that, being dead, his uniform will be hanged in the guardroom for 40 days after which his body be released to the family for burial. His family "could also be denied his benefits" due him, including insurance packages.
