Woman gives birth at Kenya polling station, names her new born baby girl 'Ballot'

A Kenyan woman has given birth to a baby girl yesterday at a polling station, while she was waiting to cast her vote in Kenya's election.

Identified as Paulina Chemanang, she was helped to deliver her baby girl by other voters at the Konyaq Secondary School in West Pokot, before she was rushed to a nearby dispensary.

Surprisingly, she returned to vote and was interviewed by Kenya's Capital FM where she said, 'having given birth at a polling station is a blessing to me and I thank God'.

She has since named her baby Chepkura. "Kura" means ballot or vote in Swahili.
