A baby girl in China was found abandoned in a rubbish bin by a sanitation worker. The woman made the discovery after she heard a noise that she thought was a kitten.
The newborn was still attached to its umbilical cord and was lying in a plastic bag crying. The woman was working cleaning the streets of Shenzhen in southern China's Guangdong province.
Upon hearing the cries coming from the bin, she opened it and found the newborn girl lying in a plastic bag. The cleaner told reporters that the baby was not wearing clothes and must have been freezing.
The baby girl was covered in blood and still had its umbilical cord. According to reports, the baby was sent to hospital for medical examination. Police said the baby girl is an unmarried mother and will leave the crime on file.
