Alisha Largent, a female high school teacher has been arrested for allegedly having s*x with a 17-year-old male student.
Alisha Largent, 25, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, is charged with felony indecent liberties with a minor while in a supervisory role.
Rockingham County sheriff's deputies arrested the Spotswood High School teacher on Monday.
The school received anonymous tips about alleged sexual activity involving a teacher and a student on March 7, according to Daily News Record.
Officials at the school then handed the case over to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office.
The teacher, who was in her first year at the school, taught introduction to foods and child development.
The school's principal Robert A. Dansey has been contacted for comment.
In 2010, the school's PE teacher and assistant football coach was charged with multiple felonies.
Bruce Harman later pleaded guilty to felony use of electronic means to solicit a minor.
Spotswood High School, founded in 1973, has an enrollment of around 700 pupils.
A mission statement on the school's website claims: 'The Spotswood High School community will provide a safe, orderly environment and diverse learning experiences for students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and character needed for academic success and responsible, productive citizenship in the 21st century.'
