Lai Mohammed, Nigeria's minister of Information and Culture, has insisted that the country's executive arm has a " robust mechanism" in resolving issues between it and the legislative arm of government.

The minister made this known to State House
correspondents after a meeting of the Federal
Executive Council, FEC, Premium Times reports.

At the FEC meeting which was held inside the
council chamber of the Presidential Villa,
Abuja on Wednesday July 5, Lai Mohammed
said the senate resolution to stop all confirmation hearings for nominees forwarded by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo came up.

The Nigerian Senate had on Tuesday put a
stop to all confirmation hearings until contentious issues surrounding their powers
to confirm appointees are resolved.

Speaking on the contentions issue, Lai Mohammed said the the order from the Senate was discussed: "It came up" adding, "We have an excellent strategy in dealing with issues with the national assembly."

"Whatever may be the misunderstanding or
problem between the National Assembly and
Executive, we have an excellent mechanism
of dealing with it," he said.
