Shock As Man Hangs Himself Live On Camera On Christmas Day

A plasterer is believed to have hanged himself live on camera as shocked chat-room guests watched on in horror.

Gregory Tomkins, from Sutton in south London, is said to have logged on to an 'insults' online chat forum in the early hours of Christmas morning.

He is then said to have set up a live camera feed and hanged himself on camera.

The plasterer was said to be a regular user of the chat room.

Another user told the Sutton Guardian after the incident: "He had come into the room on his regular screen name that he uses and then for some reason, he went and changed his screen name.

"When he actually comes in the room, he is always on the microphone and he talks. But this time, he didn't talk and he was just sitting there.

"After he left the room, he cammed up, and that was when he did what he did."

Others paid tribute to him, describing him as a "good soul."

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Police were called at 03.36hrs on Monday, 25 December to an address in Clarendon Road, Wallington SM6 after concerns were raised for the welfare of an occupant.

"Officers attended. A man, believed to be in his 30s, was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin are aware. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"A file will be prepared for the coroner."
