A Nigerian man has been reportedly arrested by men of the Nigerian police for not being able to "produce receipts for the two phones on him".

According to Nki Ru who shared the story on Facebook, the man was in a cab to Rivers State University for a meeting before he was allegedly arrested by officers of the "Operation Delta" Police, Mile One division in Rivers state.

The man is quoted as saying: "IN a taxi cap to Rivers State University for a meeting, "Operation Delta" Nigeria Police Mile One just picked me up along Elabuchi road to the their base(mile one police station)

They alleged that I am in possession of two cellphones without receipt .

Good Nigerian should draw the attention of the mile one DPO."

Many Nigerians are pissed as they have argued that the police is not required by law to demand for phone receipts from law abiding citizens.
