ISIS Unveils First Ever Female Spokesperson In A Bid To Lure More Women

Islamic State has taken the unusual step of using a female spokesperson in one of its propaganda videos.

The terror group has broken from tradition by announcing the move in a short video entitled Foundation of the Euphrates.

But the woman's identity is not revealed because she is wearing a burka. The video shows the female jihadi wearing full-length black clothing, which is forced on women under the group's strict interpretation of Sharia law.

It comes after the jihadis launched a women-only magazine called Majestic which is distributed to followers online and in areas under ISIS control.

However, it is believed to be the first time the group has placed a woman in such a visual role. It is thought that the video could be an attempt to recruit more women into the organisation.
