EPL: Man City still under investigation despite victory at CAS

Manchester City may have successfully appealed their two-year ban from European competitions, but the Premier League are still investigating their finances, SportsMail reports.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on Monday, ruled against UEFA and cleared City to play in next season's Champions League.

The CAS panel ruled that most of the allegations against the former English champions were "either not established or time-barred", meaning they were outside the five-year window that permits UEFA from prosecuting.

However, the Premier League do not have such restrictions, and they are still looking into City's books.

UEFA are claiming the Etihad club had reported misleading financial information between 2012 and 2016.

The Premier League will also be looking into the recruitment of academy players and third-party ownership, as well as Financial Fair Play (FFP).
