EPL: Bayer Leverkusen take decision on Kai Havertz joining Chelsea

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director, Rudi Voller, has ruled out any possibility of midfielder, Kai Havertz leaving the club amid interest from Premier League giant, Chelsea.

Recall that Havertz had drawn the interest of Chelsea.

Chelsea is reported to have started negotiations with Leverkusen about a potential transfer of the Germany international this summer's transfer window.

The Blues owner, Roman Abramovich, is willing to give manager, Frank Lampard, significant backing in the transfer market this summer.

Reacting to the development, Voller insisted that Leverkusen is doing everything possible to keep the 20-year-old beyond this summer.

"We have not given up hope that he will stay with us," Voller told ARD.

"We try to give him every possibility that he can call up his qualities.

"He did an outstanding job in the second half of the season."

Havertz who is under contract at Leverkusen until June 2022, has also attracted interest from a host of top European clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United.
