Man United set to sell star who helped Argentina beat Nigeria at the 2018 World Cup

Man United are reportedly hoping to offload out-of-favour Marcos Rojo once the summer transfer window opens.

Rojo is currently on loan with Argentine side Estudiantes who he joined during the winter window.

But with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deeming him surplus requirements, the Red Devils are set to open bidding war for the centre-back this summer.

Mail Online reports Estudiantes are already keen to make Rojo's loan deal permanent, but rivals Boca Juniors have also shown interest in acquiring the 30-year-old.

Rojo has featured only once for Estudiantes with a knee injury hampering his progress with the side again.

The defender, who has been at Old Trafford for more than five years now has just a year left on his current deal with the Red Devils.

He was signed by the Manchester club in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon in a £16m deal under then boss Louis van Gaal.

He has since made more than 120 appearances in a red shirt, but has been limited to just 10 with Solskjaer preferring the partnership of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
