Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has directed a young player to hold his football academy management responsible for the cash donation he made to them.
Apparently, the 27-year-old Nigerian star had made a promise to give ASDC Sports Development Center a sum of N5 million after attending one of their occasions in 2019.
But, after nothing was heard about the money from either the former Leicester City forward or the academy, an individual with the Twitter handle Sman asked Musa on the platform.
The unknown person said: "Senior man is your boys ASDC academy in Abuja you have fulfilled your promise by coming. but we have not received the 5 million your promise to give us for winning the match".
And without wasting time, Musa replied to him saying he had sent the money he promised to give the academy.
He said: "Please, go and ask your management about the money because I have paid them the money okay."
Meanwhile, the academy management has come out to explain its part in the who scenario, claiming Musa never promised the players any money.
Their statement reads: "Just to put things in perspective regarding the funds received by ASDC Sports Development Center from Ahmed Musa.
"Ahmed Musa attended one of the graduation ceremonies of the Center in 2019 and was quite pleased with the level of progress made by the center within a space of one year.
"During his remarks, he clearly pledged the sum of 5 Million in support of the activities of the CENTER and not the students. (Video evidence is available to this effect).
It further stated: "He also offered 10 scholarship slots to the center to a private university in Kano, as part of his support to the center.
The center was to select students they feel would be eligible and submit their names for a fully-funded scholarship.
"Musa at no time pledged the money for the students of the center and there are video confirmations to that effect.
"In fact, the fund as discussed with Ahmed Musa will also partly be spent on the sponsorship of 15 young players from across the country in the flagship 3-weeks program of the center, which combines sports and education.
