Basketball legend Michael Jordan turns down whopping $100m for a 2-hour brand appearance (here's why)

NBA legend Michael Jordan was said to have turned down a whopping $100million just to attend a brand event for two hours.

This was disclosed by agent to the former Chicago Bulls star who stated that the ex-basketballer will always do whatever he wants.

Following his exploits in the game, Jordan who won the NBA six times has gone on to become the most marketable figure in sporting history - from his Air Jordan brand with Nike, worth over £1billion.

He also stands as a major spokesperson for Coca-Cola, McDonalds and Chevrolet, but it was gathered that he has remained careful how he related with the public.

According to the legend's agent David Falk, several brands as well as clients have been turned down by the star since his rise to stardom in the mid-80's.

"I brought him a deal three years ago for $100 million. All he had to do was, other than giving his name and likeness, make a one two-hour appearance to announce the deal and he turned it down," Falk said on WFAN Sports Radio and cited on Daily Mail.

"God bless him. He's been so successful; it gives him an opportunity to do whatever the hell he wants or not to do things he doesn't want.

"I really admire that. He's very, very selective in the things he wants to be involved in."
