Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos names former Super Eagles star his toughest opponent

Finidi George is among the toughest opponents Roberto Carlos has faced in his career, the Real Madrid legend claims.

The Brazilian left-back has clashed a couple of times in La Liga when Finidi was plying his trade for Real Betis.

Both players were at the peak of the careers with Carlos winning the best defender three times while Finidi won the best right-winger at one point in his career.

Speaking a live Instagram chat with FIFA, the former Inter Milan, and Fenerbache player mentioned Finidi, Eto'o and Luis Figo as his toughest opponents.

"I had several, like Eto'o, Finidi, and Joaquín," the Brazilian defender told FIFA Instagram Live via Mucho Deporte.

Finidi and Carlos were close to joining Los Blancos in 2004 but the former Nigerian international turned the offer to play at the Santiago Bernabeu to join Betis.

On the other hand, the Brazilian moved to the Spanish capital and won four La Liga titles as well as three Champions League honours in 11 seasons with Los Merengues.

Carlos also won two Copa America titles in 1997, and 1999 as well as the 2002 World Cup with the Selecao - the same year he was runner-up in the FIFA Ballon d'Or award.
