Super Eagles forward named among worst English Premier League players in history

The former Leicester City of England forward has been named in fourfourtwo's worst 50 Premier League players in history, Complete Sports reports citing fourfourtwo.

Musa ranked at number 44, having managed just 2 goals in his 21 appearances for the Foxes.

The Super Eagles assistant captain who joined Leicester City not long after the club won they Premier League title in 2016 had a poor show there.

"In the glow of their Premier League-winning season, Leicester broke their transfer record to bring Musa to England for £16.6m from CSKA Moscow," fourfourtwo wrote.

"The Nigerian forward has always been an unremarkable and patchy player who, most importantly, didn't have a natural place in the Foxes side.

"At no point in his 18 months at the King Power Stadium (33 games, five goals) did Musa's transfer ever look likely to be remotely successful."

The list also has Nigeria's Ade Akinbiyi who featured for Leicester City between 2000 and 2002 after scoring 11 goals in 58 appearances for the club.

Akinbiyi played for quite a number of clubs in England including Norwich City, Crystal Palace, Stoke, Burnley, Sheffield and a host of others.

Other names on the list are Sebastien Squillaci, Yaya Sanogo and Radamel Falcao, who both played for Arsenal, Senegal's Salif Diao who featured for Liverpool and for Brazilian and Bolton Wanderers striker Mario Jardel.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa has started the year 2020 on an impressive note after helping his club Al-Nassr to win the Saudi Arabia Super Cup beating Al-Taawoun 5-4 on penalties.

Musa and his teammates were the winners of the 2018-19 Saudi Pro League while Al-Taawoun are the winners of the 2019 King Cup.

Both teams however finished the regulation time of this encounter 1-1 before proceeding into penalties.

This will now be the second title that Ahmed Musa will be winning with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr since he joined them.
