John Obi Mikel's future could be in Brazil after Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Internacional have joined Botafago in the race to sign the former Super Eagles captain.

Mikel has been a free agent after terminating his Trabzonspor contract and confirming that he is negotiating with Botafogo.

It has now been reported that another Brazilian club Internacional de Porto Alegre have joined the race for his signature.

It is now left for the Nigerian to choose the team he wants to play for next season.

We reported that John Obi Mikel has been offered a mouth-watering 18-month contract worth $2million by Brazilian club Botafogo according to reports by ESPN.

Jorge Nicola of ESPN, on his YouTube channel, revealed that the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club are offering the Nigerian star a huge amount worth more than what he earned at Turkish side Trabzonspor.

It was revealed that the amount exceeds $2million (about R $ 10.6 million) per 18 months contract.

The Brazilian club however maintain that they have reached the limit of what they can offer the player, but are optimistic that the 32-year-old will eventually sign.
