Champions League: Klopp speaks on Adrian being responsible for Liverpool's exit

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has refused to blame Adrian for their Champions League exit against Atletico Madrid.

However, Klopp admitted that his mistake cost the Reds.

The holders are out, after losing 3-2 in extra time to Atletico on Wednesday night.

Liverpool sent the tie into extra time thanks to Georginio Wijnaldum's header and seemed to be on their way to the quarter-finals, after Roberto Firmino made it 2-0.

However, Marcos Llorente pounced on Adrian's errant pass to pull one back and then completed his brace.

"Our only mistake was we scored our second goal too late. I loved the football we played. We caused them so many problems.

"It was really exceptional... The pass (from Adrian) was not. I love the boy but that is the wrong decision. It was then a bit easy to finish the situation off for them.

"We will not blame. He is a man and he knows he made a mistake. We will not judge him," Klopp told reporters after the game.
