Gareth Bale 'more likely to move to China or MLS' than return to Premier League after agent denies Tottenham rumours

Gareth Bale is more likely to move to the Chinese Super League or Major League Soccer and NOT back to the Premier League when he eventually leaves Real Madrid, according to reports.

The Welshman was linked with a shock return to Tottenham on deadline day of the January transfer window.

However, while it was widely reported that Spurs were attempting to re-sign their former winger, Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett revealed to talkSPORT that the London club did NOT submit a bid.

And it is now claimed the superstar is unlikely to ever play in England again.

Bale has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu but currently sits on the fringes on Zinedine Zidane's first-team.

He is set to see out his seventh full season with Los Blancos but is unlikely to be offered an extension so long as Zidane remains in charge.

And Barnett told talkSPORT on Monday that he doubts the 30-year-old will ever pull on the Tottenham shirt again.

Asked whether Bale might fancy a return to Spurs when his contract expires, Barnett said: "I don't think so, no. He's in a very fortunate position.

"Gareth is very happy over there. And let's be realistic: for most clubs he is out of their league, financially.

"It is all well and good to say, 'give up that money and go and play somewhere else', but it is not all about money. It is about his lifestyle and his children, who have grown up in Madrid.

"When his contract is up hopefully he will sit down with me and his family and decide what he wants to do."

According to the Daily Star, China or the United States are more realistic next destinations for the Wales international.

Bale was said to be close to a money-spinning move to the Chinese Super League last summer, but the deal collapsed and he eventually remained in Spain.
