Messi's Barcelona exit looks more closer as club legend makes stunning revelation (it's a big surprise)

Lionel Messi's future with Barcelona seems to be diving into an ending note after his former teammate Javier Mascherano insisted the Argentine's Camp Nou exit is possible as some factors may demand with time.

Messi is moving toward the twilight of his career having spent all his entire football journey with the Spanish side since making his senior team debut over a decade ago, and his first goal coming against Albacete in 2004/05 campaign.

With 33 years of life fulfilled getting closer in a couple of months, Messi is no doubt an achiever in Barcelona shirt, winning 34 trophies and at the same time becoming the club's all-time leading goalscorer.

And there are indications that the Argentine hitman may want to ply his trade somewhere else in search of fresh challenges - a reality Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said would be disheartening.

Mascherano, who played alongside the Argentine both at the club and national level, admitted 'anything is possible in football' as Messi could decide to call it quit with the Catalans any moment.

The former Liverpool star is currently seeing out his playing days with Estudiantes and he was of the view that his countryman could decide to end his career where he began it in his homeland.

"Anything can happen in the world of football and it depends on his desire to play in Argentina," Mascherano said.

"There's also the family aspect when he decides to live over here. These are personal issues and no one else can influence them.''

The 35-year-old former Barcelona star backed Messi to end his glistening career in Argentina, saying his presence will be a big boost for the league.

"If he decides to come here in the future, it'd be a huge jump in quality for our league and the country," ' Mascherano further suggested.
