Chelsea eye big January move for top Nigerian striker who plays in France

Josh Maja who currently plays for French side Bordeaux has reportedly emerged a January 2020 target for Premier League giants Chelsea.

Chelsea's transfer ban has been overturned and the Blues' chiefs are now preparing to bring in fresh legs to Stamford Bridge when the transfer window opens in January.

England international Tammy Abraham has been leading Chelsea's attack this season in all competitions and he has been impressive for the Blues.

But Chelsea want a cover-up for Tammy Abraham as Frenchman Olivier Giroud could be facing the exit doors soon.

In January 2019, Josh Maja joined Bordeaux after refusing to sign a new contract at Sunderland.

And since he joined the French club, Josh Maja has failed to command regular playing time and has managed to score seven goals in 23 appearances only starting eight games.

His finest moment in a Bordeaux shirt came in a recent 6-0 win over Nîmes Olympique, in which Maja scored three goals and an assist in just his third start of the season.

The 20-year-old striker who made his debut for Nigeria in the 2-2 against Ukraine, could now be on his way to Stamford Bridge in January, if the Blues' chiefs can meet up with Bordeaux's asking price.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League standings with 29 points after 17 games played.
