Breaking: Chelsea's transfer ban upturned, club eligible to buy players

Chelsea's transfer ban has been halved by Court of Arbitration for Sport, meaning the London side will be free to add more talents to their array of young-studded squad in the January transfer.

The Premier League giants were handed a two-transfer window ban by the football regulating body in the world following alleged breaches of rules involving the signing of young players.

Chelsea filed an appeal against the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and a verdict on Friday, December 6, has seen the ban reduced by half.

In a judgment delivered, CAS cut down the penalty though found Chelsea guilty of breaching two of its regulations on transfer of player 'U18s and third-party influence.'

Chelsea served the first half of the ban in the summer transfer with new boss Frank Lampard left with limited options of stars for the new season.

Eden Hazard's exit to Real Madrid compounded the club's woes but in a lovely turn of event, Lampard enjoyed a successful start as his young-studded squad led by the trio of Tammy Abraham, Mount and Tomori continue to show load of promises.

Chelsea, who already signed Christian Pulisic from Borrusia Dortmund before the ban, will have the chance of adding array of stars to the squad as the January window opens. Presently, Jadon Sancho is reportedly being eyed by Chelsea as the Premier League giants are said to have thrown in an option of luring the England star to Stamford Bridge in the next summer.

The 19-yer-old star, who has been in sensational form for Borussia Dortmund, may switch to Chelsea as Blues are plotting another massive club record fee worth £90 million.
