Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, has been crowned winner of Yashin award for best goalkeeper at the Ballon d'Or award gala night on Monday, December 2, in Paris.

The Brazilian star clinched the individual honour ahead of Bayern Munich's Manuel Neuer, Man City's Ederson Morães, Atletico Jan Oblak and Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Becker, who joined Liverpool in 2018 from Roma for a world record fee, was instrumental to Liverpool's Champions League breakthrough in 2018/2019 season.

With a stellar show of promise and confidence between the sticks, the shoot-stopper helped Liverpool secure a dramatic comeback over Barcelona at Anfied before helping them coast to European glory in Spain.

The 26-year-old won the 2019 Copa America with Brazil as the South American team thrashed their Peru counterparts to glory in a thrilling encounter.

The Selecao star ended up becoming the first goalkeeper to win three Golden Gloves in a single year after blistering performance that saw him receive Premier League award.
