Solskjaer finally makes big decision on re-signing former Man utd striker in January

Manchester United have reportedly decided against re-signing former striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic during the January window transfer.

Ibrahimovic is currently a free agent after ending his two season-stint with LA Galaxy in the Major League Soccer.

The Swede made a terrific start to life in the Premier League during his first season with Man United, netting an astonishing 26 goals in all competitions.

But a knee injury took a huge toll on him towards the end of that campaign and the forward was unable to replicate his goalscoring heights upon his return.

The dip in form saw United terminate his deal with the club in March 2018, forcing him to explore a fresh challenge in the MLS.

It was during his time with LA Galaxy the 38-year-old rediscovered his form and recent reports suggested he could rejoin United in a short-term deal.

However, according to Metro UK citing Sky Sports, the Red Devils will not seek a deal for the veteran striker given Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not keen on short-term fixes.

The Norwegian boss is nonetheless understood to be looking to sign a striker in January to add depth to his front-line.
