Manchester city drops to 4th after losing to Liverpool on latest Premier league standings

Liverpool look solid to win the Premier League title for the first time in about 30 years following their victory over defending champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

A goal each from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane endured the Reds remain unbeaten in the league after match day 12 encounters.

The victory also put them eight points ahead of Leicester City, who are second on the table against all odds with 26 points after the same number of games.

Chelsea have the same point as the Foxes but the Blues have conceded more goals on their way to the top three spots on the log.

Manchester City slip to fourth for the first time this season with 25 points having lost three and drawn one of their last 12 meetings in the English topflight.

And they must return to winning ways if they must successfully defend the title they won back to back at the end of this season.

Sheffield United are currently occupying the fifth position with 17 points - same as Arsenal who were beaten by Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

Meanwhile, Manchester United moved to seventh on the table with 16 points after their impressive 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford in one of Sunday's fixtures.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth and Burnley complete the top ten teams on the table heading into the FIFA international break.

Bottom three teams after match day 12 are Watford, Southampton and Norwich City, and unless they are able to turn their fortunes around, they will drop at the end of the season.

Premier League returns on the 23rd of November as Manchester City host in form Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

Liverpool faceoff with Crystal Palace while Manchester United will hope to get better off Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
